The Kitchen Sink

By Tom Wells

30-31 March, 1, 5-8 April 2017  at 7.30pm

Matinee 8 April at 2.30pm

For one family living in the faded Yorkshire seaside resort of Withernsea, things aren’t going to plan. Martin, with his dilapidated milk float, is fast losing customers to the local supermarket. Something is clearly wrong with Kath’s kitchen sink. Sophie’s dream of becoming a ju-jitsu teacher appears to

be in tatters, whilst Billy hopes his Dolly Parton portrait will be enough to get him into art college.

In spite of its title, Tom Wells’s award winning play, first performed at the Bush Theatre in 2011, is no slice of it’s-grimup-north realism but rather a touching, poignant, funny but always affectionate portrait of a modern day family.
